The following resources provide information about the Adams family history including detailed geneologies, biographies, and manuscript archives.


The Massachusetts Historical Society
The Massachusetts Historical Society is home to the Adams Family Papers, widely considered to be one of the most significant collections of American family papers in existence anywhere. The collection comprises over a quarter million documents, including letters and diaries, of several generations of Adamses. A variety of resources are available online at   the Society's website.


Adams National Historical Park
Adams National Historical Park tells the story of four generations of the Adams family (from 1720 to 1927). The park has two main sites: the Birthplaces of 2nd U.S. President John Adams and 6th U.S. President John Quincy Adams, and Peacefield including the "Old House," home to four generations of the Adams family, and the Stone Library which contains more than 14,000 historic volumes. The website at nps.gov includes information about the park, as well as an informative section on History & Culture.
